WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe the Bible to be the only inspired and complete Word of God and was given to human writers through divine revelation. We believe that it is the ultimate authority on God’s plan for humanity.
2 Timothy 3: 16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; I Corinthians 15:3-4
We believe in one eternal, holy, living God, existing is threes persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that He is the Creator and the Sustainer of all things.
Matthew 28:18-20; Matthew 3:16-17; I Corinthians 8:5-6
We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son, fully God and fully human. We believe that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, was raised to life on the third day, and ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father, where He stands as our Advocate before God the Father.
John 1:1,14; Galatians 4:4-7; 1 John 2:1-2; Romans 8:32-34
We believe God the Holy Spirit is God’s presence here on earth. We believe that we are convicted of sin and born into new life through the Holy Spirit, who then lives within us and transforms us into the image of Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit pleads for us before the Father and guides us in all truth.
John 14:16-21; Romans 8:9-11, 26-27; John 16:7-15
Sin and Salvation
We believe that sin entered the world through Adam and Eve and that all people are born with a sinful nature, which separates us from God. We believe that God established a plan of redemption so that we could be reunited with Him. We believe that this plan was fulfilled through the sinless life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that we receive salvation through the work of the Holy Spirit not by works, but by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:9-12, 21-24; Romans 5:6-21; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9
Identity and Eternity
We believe that God created humans to be eternal beings, designed to live with Him forever, and that our identity is to be His children. We believe that through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, this is now possible, and when we accept God’s free gift of salvation, we are made into new creations and continue to grow more into His image.
We believe that God wills none to be lost, but all to be saved, and that each person is given free will to choose whether or not to accept God’s free gift of salvation. We believe this choice ultimately determines where we will spend eternity – either eternally with God or eternally separated from God.
2 Peter 3:9; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10; 1 John 3:1-3; Galatians 4:4-7; John 3:16-18
We believe that all believers in Jesus Christ are spiritually united as members of one body, the Church. We believe each local church is called to accomplish God’s plan through the meeting together of believers and being the hands and feet of Jesus to their local communities.
Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:36-37; 2 Corinthians 12:12-14, 27-31; Hebrews 10:23-25
Our Body and Sexuality
We believe that God created man and women in His image and that our physical bodies are a reflection of God’s glory. We believe that God created us as sexual beings and that our sexuality is something to celebrate. We believe that God established the union of marriage to be between one man and one woman and that sexual intimacy was created exclusively for this union to be a reflection of the Trinity.
Genesis 1:27-31; Genesis 2:18-25; Psalm 139, 1 Corinthians 6:15-20
